The Gift of Gardening:How has it Transformed your Life?

The Garden is a Gift...
It can Transform us in so many ways!

Has your Garden Transformed you in any way?
What Gifts has the Garden brought to you?

Do you believe the Garden carries a Creative Power that can shift your world within?

Has the Beauty of Creating with Your Garden changed who you are..has it made you become MORE of who you are?

My love for nature and my own little garden has brought me many gifts..more miracles I could possibly name ..but I will start with a few...

Gifts From the Garden

Peacefulness, Serenity, Joy

A Space of Beauty, Balance and Alignment

Patience and Excitement and Creativity

Respect for all of Nature and all the vital parts they play

Healing, Love, Friendship and Abundance

Appreciation for All Seasons

Harmony, Connection and Awe

Inspiration and Creative Expression

Freedom

Can each flower that is born....carry a gift that moves your heart?
Has the process of caring for a garden taught you new things?...things about yourself....the earth....nature ?
Has it transformed your thinking? Empowered you?

Another BIG Question:
Was there any one person or event particularily instrumental in your Journey of Gardening?  What do you feel led you to the Gift of Gardening?
And what keeps you gardening?

The Garden will always transform my life..it is A Space of Natural Miracles.

I am Awake with Nature... Sometimes flowers and trees ignite me with excitement ..they can also melt my heart with a flood of emotions. Over the years the garden has shape-shifted into many Powerful Roles.. at times it has been My Nourisher..My Balancer, A Mother, A Father, My Ancient Ancestors..My Healer..My Teacher..My Guide..My Sacred Space..My Awakener...I am in Awe of Nature....and am honored to take a small part in creating with this space.. we all call ..our very own Garden.

The Garden has become a Place to Awaken and Transform..I have learned to Embody; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter in my Being with Gratefulness and Joy for all the miracles they perform....I Celebrate and Create with that Power of Change..to become more and more of what a Garden is..AWAKE ...It is Always Awake and In Harmony with the Natural Essence of Creation.

The Gift of Gardening~Victoria Pettella~

I would love to hear your thoughts....what Gifts the garden has brought to you..what was Instrumental in your Journey to Gardening....and anything else you'd love to share..

Anyone who wishes to share Their Wisdom..and Their Gifts From the Garden..please do!

I enjoyed your post, Kiki. I read a quote once that said...Gardening brings years to your life and life to your years. I can't remember who said that but I thought ..how true.

I have recently written "my garden story" that will be published (i think) in a local gardening mag soon. Gardening has brought some understanding to my troubled relationship with my father. Too much to get into now, but perhaps I will post it at some point. For now, I will not produce any original thoughts (brain's tired) but just agree with some of what you've mentioned above that particularly speak to me: appreciation of the seasons, respect for nature, creativity, excitement, friendship, and probably most of all - patience.

Oh, and also hope and faith.

Wonderful post! :)
Moving.
You are good! :)))
Both, your flowers and pictures are beautiful!

I remember one summer especially.
In the evenings after gardening, me and my husband sat down in the garden. We listened to Norah Jones, drank some wine and talked.
A great summer!

I have bought some new bulbs this year.
Pink Daffodils.
So I look forward to spring already.... ;)))

this is one of my favourite poems and a metaphor I try to live by http://nipitinthebud.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/reminders/
- be patient, don't force what's not ready, stand back and let nature take it's course, learn to love and let go and be thankful.

Kiki,
This is a thought provoking post and I love reaching back and trying to remember where my love of gardening and the obsession came from. Probably my dad was the most instrumental and encouraging. He is by far, the best garden mentor I ever had.
Thanks for introducing this topic.

A very motivating post! Made me think about all the treasures I've come across, the best of nature in all its beauty... As I write this, images flash by and there's a lot of them. A post like this deserves another post as an answer, I think!!

My parents, especially my mom, taught me the love for gardening. 'Taught' in the sense that we always saw the passion in her and as a daughter it came naturally to me. Thank you Kiki for making me stop and think about all the inspirations where gardening is concerned.

It really has taught me to appreciate all the seasons for sure! It's been such a great place to spend time with my girls and for them to learn about nature. I wish more people saw all that can come from the garden instead of just thinking of it as work.
Beautiful pictures and post as always!

Hi Kiki,

There is an award for you on my blog. I hope that you will accept it but I won't be offended if you don't. You may have already received it, but you have been so supportive and I wanted you to know that I really appreciate it.

Thanks for writing such a wonderfully thought-provoking post. Gardening has changed my outlook on so many things. It has taught me to be patient, to appreciate changes, to be persistent - if at first you don't succeed try again - there's always next year, it taught me how fragile life is and how resilient, to appreciate each season and all it has to offer... really I can go on and on. The garden relaxes me, it has brought me wonderful friendships, and it feeds my soul. My Mother-in-law inspired me garden. So every time I see a garden I think of her. Thanks again for such a great post! -Jackie

Hi Kiki, I'm glad you noticed that I've gave you two awards. The Honest Scrap award and the Beautiful Blog Award. Totally up to you if you want to participate or not, I understand completely if you don't. Thanks again for all of the info & inspiration you've provided me since I found your blog.

This is a wonderful post, the first picture is stunning, you always have such magical lighting in the pictures you take. For me, gardening is grounding. I love digging in the ground, barehanded, and touching, seeing & smelling the flowers and plants. I think we've become somewhat disconnected from our planet, so it is good for the soul to become grounded and reconnect.

Gardening takes me where I need to be, Kiki, the 1st to touch me, my mother (so loved the freckles on her nose and big smile when she hugged me after a day in her garden ... I knew as a small child, this is something good). I honor the earth and those that have taught and shared gifts both in the garden & my life ... my garden is me, thankful sections honoring those who have touched my soul. And today, I am most thankful for knowing you and sharing the gift ... Happy Thanksgiving!
