Hey Kiki!

Love the treasures, it's just enough to take my mind off of the 100 degree (literally) weather!! It's HORRID outside, and I was in complete shade for miles....*SIGH*. Today's still a good day, the Bachelorette's coming on ha, I'll be indulging in MORE spaghetti and i'm happy....

today's song? My Love by Paul McCartney...have a fab day :)

Oh Kiki I just love Irises! I only have 2 small clusters that bloom in the spring but for a few weeks I am in heaven. When I lived in Kansas City there was a lady who had Irises all over her garden in every hue imaginable. Some were in colors like old lace...pale faded rose, blues, yellows and some that looked almost grey. I wish I had asked her for a few bulbs before I left. My goal someday is to recreate that garden!

Such beauty in your garden, Kiki...mine is in a wintry sleep, and it's so cold, but I still like to wander through the garden at this time of year...the ideas are bubbling. Hope your day is also filled with magic and joy - I love visiting here, it is such a peaceful place x

Such lovely irises, Kiki. The irises here bring me such joy when they bloom in the spring. Some came from friends, which make them even more special. Happy July to you!

So beautiful Kiki, your iris is GORGEOUS!! So full of colour and light, and exudes happiness. I think it is the polar opposite to mine (which I also love). Great post! :)

What a lovely way to begin my day!! The way you capture the magic of nature and specifically this beautiful iris is simply wonderful. I must make sure I have an iris in my collection next season. I wish you a peaceful and creative and magical week filled with all kinds of surprises! Thank you, also, for your kind comments and for visiting my little blog...it means so very much to me. I can't believe I missed this post! I'll blame it on the heat ;) Anyway, what can I say? These photos keep getting better all the time. I swear I've never seen the details on an Iris like this before. Just incredible. Have a wonderful day my friend and thank you, as always XO

Wow, Kiki, I've missed a lot over here! That's what happens when one plays hooky from "work" and blogging visits for a whole week!

As always...I love your shots in the sunshine, no matter the subject.
Dramatic! They just always remind me of the lighting the Old Masters used in their paintings - the darks so dark and the light in just the right places.

Gorgeous!!! I read recently that the Fluer de Lis is a stylized Iris. See

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Fleur.iris.2.png

I read that an army was cornered until they saw Iris growing in the river - which meant the river was shallow enough to cross to safety - which they did, and after that, it became the famous Fluer de Lis symbol.

Have a wonder-filled weekend, Kiki!

Hi Kiki ~ Your photography is wonderful! I have irises in my garden , last year they were gorgeous , this year they didn't get as much rain , so we only had a few blooms. I'll have to remember to make a wish when I see them bloom next year.

Thanks for visiting my blog , hope you'll visit again soon.

Oh, dear Kiki, I am having one of those overwhelm sort of days where everything seems to much and even the smallest things want to make me want to cry. So...I know to come here to get some beautiful perspective, to find my inner calm, to get back to center. Thank you for that!! Much love, Silke

Hi Kiki!

i grew up with purple irises that would shoot up every year in the front of our farmhouse...and each summer I would watch these gorgeous frilly blooms open up in all their splendor and be in awe of how all that delicately detailed petal fushion would sprout from a small bud!

what memories!
sheer bliss!
thanks for sharing!

Hello Kiki, irises are not suited for our conditions, but i like them. Somehow i thought only the blues are common because from my few travels to temperate climes they are what i normally see. But these colors are definitely magical, spiritual like the amethyst.
